With over 30 years in transportation planning and engineering, I’ve helped dozens of public agencies take on some of the most challenging and innovative initiatives in the field. My work has spanned planning, designing, and implementing transportation systems that modernize how people move, with a strong focus on technology, operations, and leadership. I’ve partnered with DOTs, transit agencies, cities, and counties—leading teams, facilitating change, and engaging communities so all voices are heard.
I began my career with the City of Bellevue in traffic operations before joining a consulting firm, where I spent 28 years in leadership roles including Director of the Transportation Technology Team, Chief Business Development Officer, and Chairman of the Board.
Alongside my technical work, I’ve studied and practiced servant leadership—what I call compassionate leadership—believing our profession needs inclusive, humble, and empowering leaders to truly serve communities.
Colleagues often describe me as a trusted advisor, open to change, a lifelong learner, and a passionate, purpose-driven leader and mentor.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my amazing, resilient, compassionate wife and two amazing sons. I find joy in nature, helping others, and riding my bike.
