I love to work on collaborative teams that bring together diverse perspectives and creative thinking. It’s important to me that the projects I work on leave a lasting positive impact on the surrounding communities, and I believe that transportation has the potential to influence public health, quality of life, and a more regenerative built environment. I promise to bring a positive, curious attitude to every conversation and to be striving for a more sustainable, equitable, and technologically responsible future.
Outside of work, I am a mom to one son and one fur baby. My family and I live in Happy Valley, Oregon. I like to spend my time drinking coffee, going on walks, and eating cupcakes. :)

I've spent the last 30 years in the transportation planning and engineering industry, helping dozens of public agencies with the most challenging and innovative transportation initiatives. With a focus on transportation technology and operations, I’ve worked with leaders of state departments of transportation, transit agencies, cities and counties, and consulting firms, planning, designing, and implementing transportation systems, projects, and programs that have significantly modernized the transportation network. With my balance of technical and people skills, I’m sought after for my role in leading teams, facilitating change management processes, thinking strategically, getting things done, and engaging partners and the public so they all have a voice and feel heard.
I started my professional career working with the City of Bellevue in traffic operations before moving to a consulting firm where I spent 28 years quickly advancing to project management and leadership roles, including the Director of the Transportation Technology Team, Chief Business Development Officer, and Chairman of the Board.
In addition to my background and experience in transportation planning and engineering, I’ve been studying the art and science of leadership, particularly servant leadership, or what I like to call compassionate leadership. I believe the transportation and engineering profession needs great leaders to deliver the projects that truly meet the needs of our communities. We need leaders who are compassionate, listen well, are humble, inclusive, show appreciation, and empower others.
Here’s a bit about how other people describe me:
Outside of work, I have an amazing, resilient, compassionate wife, and two incredible sons (young men) pursuing their passions. I love being outside in nature, I’m passionate about helping others, and you’ll often find me riding my bike, which is one of my other great joys.

With a passion for accessibility and safety, I have been gathering knowledge from my experiences in the civil and transportation engineering field since I graduated in 2020. My focus is on transportation planning and operations, and I have worked with clients with varying needs. My role is to support client goals while also providing an outside perspective for innovative solutions. While there continues to be much for me to learn, I am dedicated to my work, my clients, and Citizen Engineers.
Adaptability and collaboration are my strong suits, along with providing an equity lens in all my work. I hold a Transportation Equity Certification from the University of Florida and I do my best to uplift the voices of the communities I serve. Listening and seeking to understand the communities we work in is paramount as they know what they struggle with the most.
Grant writing is another passion of mine and I have aided clients in receiving over $28M in funding from federal and state governments. I have experience with many different types of engineering and planning grants, especially grants that improve the quality of life for historically underserved communities.
I am a proud member of the queer community, and when I’m not working, I attend weekly trivia at a book pub, play tabletop roleplaying and board games, and watch professional wrestling. However, on a typical night you will see me at home, curled in a blanket either listening to podcasts or watching television.
To create a community of compassionate transportation leaders that address today’s transportation challenges with compassion for people and the community.
To integrate leadership development and transportation engineering/planning to navigate the most pressing transportation challenges.
